RediClinic Announces Management Changes
New Organizational Structure Positions Company for Growth in 2008
HOUSTON (November 6, 2007) – In a series of management changes announced today, the RediClinic and RediClinic Services units of RediClinic, LLC, have been unified under a single management structure, three senior executives have been promoted, and two new executives have joined the senior management team.
Jack Koehn, formerly chief operating officer of the RediClinic division, has been named president of RediClinic LLC, and Eric Fournet was promoted from chief financial officer to chief financial and administrative officer. Both Koehn and Fournet will report to Web Golinkin, chief executive officer.
In other changes, Rick Van Pelt, who previously served as vice president of operations for the RediClinic division, was promoted to chief operating officer, reporting to Koehn.
In addition, Carolyn Galloway, M.D., M.P.H., has joined RediClinic as its chief medical officer, responsible for all clinical affairs, and Lori Knowles has joined as vice president of human resources.
Dr. Galloway comes to RediClinic from AIG Travel Assist, where she served as chief medical officer. Prior to that, she was medical director of the Memorial Hermann Hospital Emergency Department. Dr. Galloway graduated from the University of Texas Medical School and earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Texas, School of Public Health.
Prior to joining RediClinic, Lori Knowles served as the director of human resources at Park Plaza Medical Center and also at Shriners Hospitals for Children. A graduate of Minot State University, Knowles earned a Master of Science degree in Organizational Management and Human Resources from Capella University.
Both Galloway and Knowles will join RediClinic’s expanded leadership team which, in addition to Golinkin, Koehn, Fournet and Van Pelt, includes Walt Mischer, chairman of the board; Bruce Hall, chief marketing officer; and George Walker, executive vice president of RediClinic Services.
“It is an exciting time for RediClinic as we prepare for a period of rapid growth,” said Golinkin, who also serves as president of the Convenient Care Association of which RediClinic is a founding member. “These management and organizational changes provide us with the leadership and structure we need to seize the opportunities and meet the challenges ahead.”
RediClinics are in-store healthcare facilities that offer consumers easy access to high-quality, routine health services at affordable prices. RediClinics are staffed by certified nurse practitioners who work with local physicians to diagnose, treat and prescribe medications for common conditions, such as earaches, strep throat and upper respiratory infections. They also administer a wide range of preventive services, including health screening tests and other vaccinations, and back-to-school physical exams.
RediClinics are open seven days a week (including most holidays) and offer extended hours on weekdays. Adults and children over age two are welcome, no appointments are necessary, and a typical visit takes about 15 minutes.
RediClinic uses a proprietary electronic medical record system to document and guide patient visits. This system ensures patient suitability to RediClinic’s limited scope of practice and facilitates continuity of care when other clinicians are involved. Patients who cannot be treated at RediClinic, or who need ongoing treatment, are referred to their primary care provider, if they have one, or to other physicians in their communities.
RediClinic visits are now covered by the four largest commercial health insurance carriers – Aetna, CIGNA, Humana and UnitedHealthcare – as well as by Medicare and a growing number of regional carriers such as Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma. Those who are covered by health plans that do not currently have agreements with RediClinic receive specially-formatted receipts that can be filed for possible reimbursement.
RediClinic operates 19 locations in H-E-B stores in Houston, Austin and San Antonio, Texas; 13 locations in Wal-Mart stores in Tulsa, Okla., Fayetteville and Rogers, Ark., and Richmond, Va. Additional RediClinics are scheduled to open in 2007 and 2008.
