RediClinic and St. David’s HealthCare Announce Expanded Affiliation
September 10, 2009 (Austin, TX) – RediClinic, LLC and St. David’s HealthCare today announced an expanded affiliation.
Currently, St. David’s HealthCare provides physician oversight to the nurse practitioners and physician assistants who staff the Austin-area RediClinics. The expanded affiliation allows for co-marketing and clinical quality initiatives, and provides RediClinic patients with another outlet for follow-up care when needed.
“Our expanded affiliation with St. David’s HealthCare, Austin’s premier health care system, will help us provide more residents with easy access to affordable health care,” said Web Golinkin, chief executive officer of RediClinic. “RediClinic and St. David’s HealthCare share similar philosophies and our organizations have worked closely together since we entered the market three years ago—it was a logical next step for us to expand our relationship.”
“As one of the largest hospital systems in Texas, we recognize the value of collaborating with like-minded organizations in an effort to increase the accessibility of care available to patients in Central Texas,” Mark Clayton, senior vice president, St. David's HealthCare, said.
RediClinics are staffed by certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants who work with St. David’s HealthCare physicians in Central Texas to diagnose, treat and prescribe medications for common conditions such as earaches, strep throat and upper respiratory infections. They also administer a wide range of preventive services, including health screenings, vaccinations and basic physical exams.
RediClinic visits are covered by the five largest commercial health insurance carriers in Texas: Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield of Texas, CIGNA, Humana and UnitedHealthcare, and a growing number of other third-party payers including Medicare.
For those without health insurance or who are covered by a plan that does not have an agreement with RediClinic, all “Get Healthy” visits cost $75, including most instant diagnostic tests that may be required.
