Rediclinic Offers New Health Package Specifically Designed for Teens
Services include physical exam required for summer camp and back-to-school
May 12, 2010 (HOUSTON, TX) – With summer break around the corner, and many teenagers headed to summer camp or looking forward to school sports, now is the time to take care of the mandatory physical exam required by many camps as well as school sports groups. RediClinic, which offers routine treatment and preventive care without an appointment, now offers a “Teen Health Package” designed especially for teens that includes a physical exam, an acne consultation and an immunization review all for only $59.
“We all know that adolescence is a time of great change,” said Susan Cooley King, Vice President of Clinical Services. “With this in mind, RediClinic created a special health package that addresses the specific needs of a teen.”
Teens who visit RediClinic can expect the following as part of a Teen Health Package:
Camp, Sports & School Physical
Physical Exams are always in season. They are required by summer camps, and for participation in school sports. During a RediClinic physical, a clinician evaluates the teen’s medical history. The exam is then performed, checking teen’s physical health from head to toe including, but not limited to:
| • |
Height & Weight |
 |
• |
Abdomen |
| • |
Blood Pressure |
 |
• |
Pulse |
| • |
Vision & Hearing |
 |
• |
Lymph Nodes |
| • |
Ears, Nose & Throat |
 |
• |
Skin |
| • |
Neck |
 |

Joints, Spine & Muscles |

Acne Consultation
According to The American Academy of Dermatology eighty-five percent of American teenagers are affected by acne and the problem is more than just skin deep. Acne can negatively affect a teen’s self-esteem and can lead to limited social interaction and participation in activities.
RediClinic’s Teen Health Package patients will receive an evaluation of their acne issues and the clinician will make recommendations for the most appropriate treatment ranging from over-the-counter medications to prescriptions.
Immunization Review
Ensuring that teenagers are protected from diseases is important and certain immunizations are required for the 2010-11 school year. Immunizations of particular interest to teens include the Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (Tdap) and Meningococcal, both of which are required beginning in the seventh grade. As a part of the Teen Health Package, a RediClinic clinician will review the teen’s immunization history, identify which vaccines the patient needs for school admission and administer the vaccines, for an additional charge if necessary.
Physical exams, acne treatment and immunizations are only a few of the services offered at your local RediClinic. The clinics are staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants who work with local physicians to diagnose, treat and prescribe medications for common conditions such as earaches, strep throat and upper respiratory infections. They also administer a wide range of preventive services, including health screenings, vaccinations and physical exams. No appointments are necessary, and visits usually take about 15 minutes.
RediClinic visits are covered by all major health plans, and a growing number of other third-party payers including Medicare. For a complete list of health plans accepted by RediClinic visit www.RediClinic.com/insurance. For those who do not have health insurance or who are covered by a plan that does not have an agreement with RediClinic, most “Get Healthy” visits cost only $79.
