RediClinic Joins Other
Retail Clinic Owners as Founding Members of New Trade Association
Convenient Care Association to deliver guidance, develop standards,
and provides stronger representation
HOUSTON (November 9, 2006) – Responding
to the major issues and concerns of accessible health care in America,
RediClinic, along with other prominent members of the Convenient Care
industry, have taken an important step by joining forces to create
a new trade organization – The Convenient Care Association
(CCA).
The CCA currently represents 12 Convenient Care Clinic organizations,
including RediClinic. Convenient care clinics primarily are staffed
by Nurse Practitioners and provide routine, non-emergency services
to walk-in patients at affordable prices seven days a week. RediClinics
currently are located in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New York,
with others opening soon in Georgia and Virginia.
“The Convenient Care industry has revolutionized the way patients
access health care today,” says Tine Hansen-Turton, Executive
Director, CCA. “That kind of impact is energizing, and we look
forward to expanding our membership.”
The Convenient Care Association, supported by its members, is committed
to:
• Ongoing development of uniform protocols which enhance and
assist clinics’ health care providers
• Implementing medical record sharing procedures with physicians
and other health care providers
• Offering recommendations, based on established best practices,
for patient follow-up care
“We are honored to participate in an industry association which
will help all of us provide consumers with easier access to routine
healthcare at affordable prices,” says Web Golinkin, Chief Executive
Officer of RediClinic and Treasurer of CCA. “Together, we will
share best practices, unify our voices and partner with the existing
medical community to better serve our patients.”
Already, the CCA has secured an important endorsement for its approach
to health care delivery. The American College of Nurse Practitioners
(ACNP) recently adopted a resolution praising the Convenient Care
industry and its accessible, high quality healthcare of delivery.
Founding CCA Executive Board members include: Don Parker, AtlantiCare
Health Services; Kimberly Hodgkinson, Aurora Health Care; Dean Q.
Lin, CareWorks Convenient Healthcare (a subsidiary of Geisinger Health
System); Neal F. Krouse, M.D., CheckUps; Steven W. Cooley, M.D., HealthStop,
Inc.; Brian Jones, MedXpress; Michael J. O’Neil, MEDPOINTexpress
(a subsidiary of Memorial Hospital and Health System); Maurice Stone,
My Healthy Access; Ronald Bucci, QuickClinic; Dave Mandelkern, QuickHealth;
Web Golinkin, RediClinic; and Hal Rosenbluth, Take Care Health Systems.
