What is the flu?
The flu is a contagious disease that causes fever,
sore throat, chills, fatigue, cough, headaches,
and muscle aches.
What
is the risk? The flu can cause serious reactions in
some people. You should receive the vaccine to
protect yourself and your family.
Why
do I need the vaccine now?
The CDC recommends that every adult receive a
flu shot every year. Last year's vaccine may not
protect you this year.
Tdap
+ Flu Shot (Tetanus, Diptheria, and Pertussis)
Who should get one?
For ages 11+ to protect yourself and prevent the
spread of Whooping Cough to young children.
What
is the risk? The disease can be life threatening for
infants. Adults who are not vaccinated can pass
on the infection. Cases of Whooping Cough are
on the rise.
When
do I need the vaccine?
The CDC recommends this vaccine if you have not
had a tetanus booster in the past two years. Your
Immunity fades 5-10 years after the last childhood
vaccination.
Pneumonia
+ Flu Shot
Who should get one?
For ages 65+ and who have not had a pneumonia
shot in the past 5 years.
What
is the risk? Drugs that were once used to treat pneumonia
are less effective because the bacteria have developed
resistance. Pneumonia is a leading cause of vaccine-preventable
deaths in the United States and worldwide.
When
do I need the vaccine?
For ages 65+ and have not had a pneumonia shot
in the past five (5) years.
