WHAT IS CEDAR FEVER?
Central Texas has the largest concentration of mountain cedars, making allergy-prone Texans far more likely to suffer from cedar allergies, “cedar fever.” Unlike other trees that pollinate in the spring, the male mountain cedar tree releases pollen into the air during the cold, winter months resulting in sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, cough, headache and sinus congestion. It may raise one’s temperature slightly, but there is no real “fever”. Cedar fever can easily be confused with the flu or cold. A trip to RediClinic will help in identifying the symptoms and the right course for immediate treatment and relief.
