Get Your Children Vaccinated Before School Year Starts: Texas Immunization Requirements and RediClinic Services

Know Texas Immunization Requirements for the 2015-16 School Year

Texas state law requires that students who attend a private or public elementary or secondary school in Texas be immunized against several vaccine-preventable diseases. Your child must have acceptable evidence of vaccination prior to entry, attendance or transfer, or a valid medical or conscientious exemption (such as religious belief).

Get Mandatory Vaccinations at RediClinic

Conveniently located inside or adjacent to 35 H-E-B stores throughout Texas, RediClinic is a great choice for your child’s back-to-school immunizations. A RediClinic vaccination clinic offers every immunization required by the Texas Department of State Health Services for the 2015-2016 school year. Our board-certified clinicians will review your child’s current record to determine which of the following mandatory vaccinations he or she needs.

  • Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (DTaP)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Meningococcal
  • Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR)
  • Pneumococcal
  • Polio
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)

Serious illness in both children and adults can be prevented with vaccines. Vaccines have a long history of safely and effectively reducing the number of Texans impacted by highly contagious diseases such as measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria and polio. In most cases, the benefits of vaccinating a child far outweigh any potential risks.

Stay On Track with ImmTrac

ImmTrac is the official Texas electronic immunization registry that stores and consolidates immunization histories in one central system. This no-cost service funded by the State of Texas and administered by the Department of State Health Services is available to all Texans with written consent. To ensure the security and confidentiality of immunization records, your ImmTrac immunization history can only be accessed by an authorized health care provider. RediClinic encourages both adults and children to register with ImmTrac and store immunization histories for a lifetime.
